Water Rescue One Technician | Outreach Rescue
The Water Rescue Technician course enables students to work safely in flood response and other water rescue situations.
By encountering a wide range of training venues over the five days students develop an understanding of the diverse risks and problems encountered in these difficult environments. They are given a thorough grounding in all the skills required to work in moving water in a systematic way keeping risks to a minimum.
The full range of available rescue options, from basic first response to the use of rescue craft and swim rescues are examined and tested in different hydrology enabling students to make informed judgements at water related incidents.
The core skills are tested through a series of practical tests and a written paper.

On the course you are going to become familiar with a range of equipment used for working in water. Each type of equipment has a manufacturer's instruction for use and it is good practice to read up on the equipment before using it. There are numerous manufacturers' websites that contain information and you should visit them to improve your awareness of what equipment is available to use and its potential application. |

There are options on successful completion of this course to register it towards a Coventry University Diploma / Certificate in Specialist Rescue (subject to an additional assignment) or contribution towards other higher education awards. | Equipment and Clothing to bring with you | |

The weather in North Wales is heavily influenced by the mountains and it can be wet, windy and cold when outside, so bring warm waterproof clothing with you. For delegates from the Emergency Services, there is no requirement to bring service uniform with you. |
