Level 5 Award in Managing Work in Confined Spaces - City & Guilds 6150-61
This course is designed for managers that are responsible for organizing and planning work activities within a confined space. The manager may or may not supervise the actual job. This course focuses on planning, organizing and managing work safely in confined spaces including legislative roles and responsibilities, health and safety considerations and equipment requirements. The delegate will be required to work on a project (Case Study) post course.
Be able to apply the relevant legislative and industry requirements for managing work in confined spaces.
Be able to develop risk assessments relevant to confined spaces to work activities.
Be able to identify suitable control measures for work activities to be undertaken in confined spaces.
Be able to develop safe working methods for confined spaces
Be able to establish effective procedures for using permits to work
Be able to develop effective emergency arrangements
Be able to implement and maintain effective arrangements for document storage, review and audit
Understand legislative and industry confined space requirements for managing work in confined spaces
Understand how to develop risk assessments relevant to confined spaces work activities to be undertaken
Understand control measures for work activities to be undertaken in confined spaces
Understand safe methods of work for confined spaces work activities
Understand procedures for using permits to work
Understand how to develop effective emergency arrangements
Understand procedures for reporting systems and risk assessments
Candidates will have normally completed the relevant 6150 confined space entry qualification for the situations they manage.
5 days. The delegate will be required to work on a project (Case Study) post course.
Assessment will include a short answer question paper and a 8000 word task based project which will require completion throughout the course, however if not finished this has to be completed in candidates own time.
City and Guilds certification is valid for 3 years from date of issue.
