WATER AND FLOOD RESCUE TECHNICIAN

(DEFRA MOD 3)

INSTRUCTOR SKILLS (TRAINING)

This course allows water rescue technicians to progress to the teaching role required to introduce personnel to water rescue systems and equipment care.

The course provides students with the opportunity to run sessions in all the basic skills, run basic scenarios and assess standards of student performance. Although much of the course is practical, students will get opportunities to develop lesson planning, exam construction and written risk assessments. These will be followed by practical assessments of training venues and dynamic assessments of activities in manmade and natural environments. The course is assessed by a series of practical assessments.
