The American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Recertification course is designed for healthcare professionals needing refresher training in paediatric emergency care. This globally recognised course reinforces the latest international guidelines for the assessment and management of paediatric medical emergencies. Delegates will refine their knowledge and hands-on skills through scenario-based training, ensuring they remain competent and confident in handling paediatric life-threatening situations. The course covers airway management, shock treatment, rhythm disturbances, and advanced resuscitation strategies, preparing healthcare professionals for emergency roles in hospitals, prehospital settings, and critical care environments worldwide. Upon successful completion, participants receive an ASHI PALS Recertification, valid for 24 months.

Previous knowledge

Participants must have a valid or recently expired ASHI PALS certification and proficiency in ECG interpretation and cardiovascular pharmacology. A professional-level Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR/AED) certification is also expected.

Requirements

To earn recertification, delegates will complete a written exam (minimum passing score: 71%) and provide a practical demonstration of emergency care skills in two randomly selected paediatric case scenarios.
