Following industry feedback, Outreach Rescue has taken the decision not to move forward with its Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Sciences.
Outreach Rescue has today issued an update on the development of the Diploma in Paramedic Sciences (Level 6). After three years of planning and seven months in the formal approval process, the decision has been taken not to proceed with the launch of the programme at this time.
This decision follows consultation with stakeholders across the sector. While interest from prospective learners has been strong, recent feedback indicates that the wider sector is not yet fully prepared to support a non-university pathway to attain paramedic registration. Given this, we believe it is the responsible approach to bring this phase of the project to a close for now.
We are grateful to all those who supported the initiative, including clinicians, paramedic employers, and industry leaders who shared their time and insight throughout the process.
Focussing on Core Clinical Training
Although the Diploma programme will not move forward at this stage, Outreach Rescue remains firmly committed to clinical education for first responders and emergency services personnel. Over the coming months, we will be placing renewed focus on the training areas where we provide the greatest value and hands-on relevance, including:
- Certified prehospital qualifications such as FREC/FREUC Levels 3–5
- Advanced CPD programmes for registered Paramedics
- Paramedic-led clinical training for emergency and frontline responders
- Specialist clinical instruction for SAR and technical rescue teams
- Bespoke learning modules designed to meet specific organisational needs
These training programmes continue to enable professional development and career progression for those working in prehospital and rescue operational environments. Our clinical training team are available to provide guidance for learners who wish to explore these recognised clinical pathways.
Please note: The Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Practice (Top-Up) remains available. This programme is intended for registered Paramedics seeking further professional development.
