To improve the assessment, clinical decision-making, and management skills of pre-hospital professionals treating paediatric medical and trauma emergencies.
This course is ideal for; paramedics, emergency medical technicians, emergency responders, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other pre-hospital care providers.
Focuses on low-frequency, high-acuity paediatric emergencies to enhance confidence and readiness.
Uses the Paediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) to support rapid, structured assessment.
Integrates family-centred care with clinical paediatric emergency interventions.
Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) and recognised by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)
Participants should hold a recognised emergency care qualification such as EMT, paramedic, or equivalent clinical background.
Participants must complete a pre-course knowledge check prior to attending, successfully participate in all in-course practical skills assessments, and complete a post-course multiple-choice assessment. They must also be medically fit for practical training.
Suitable progression includes advanced trauma or critical care programmes such as PHTLS, AMLS, or paediatric life support courses.
