A globally recognised paediatric emergency care course, aligned with international standards, designed for healthcare professionals managing critical paediatric conditions, including respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac arrest.
American Safety & Health Institute's (ASHI) Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is an internationally recognised certification course that equips healthcare professionals with the essential skills to assess and manage paediatric medical emergencies. This intensive training follows globally accepted guidelines and best practices for paediatric resuscitation and emergency care. Participants will develop proficiency in airway management, shock treatment, and rhythm recognition while engaging in hands-on, scenario-based learning. The course ensures learners meet the highest international standards, preparing them for emergency roles in hospitals, prehospital settings, and critical care environments worldwide. Upon successful completion, participants earn an ASHI PALS Certification, which is valid for 24 months and recognised globally across the healthcare and emergency response sectors.

Previous knowledge

Participants must have basic training in cardiac rhythm analysis (ECG interpretation) and a knowledge of cardiovascular pharmacology. Professional-level Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR/AED) certification (either prior or included in the course) is also required.

Requirements

To pass, delegates will be required to complete a written exam, with a minimum score of 71%, as well as a practical demonstration of paediatric emergency care in two randomly selected case scenarios.

Further training and career development opportunities include advanced paediatric and neonatal critical care courses and continuing medical education (CE) credits for healthcare professionals.
