Introducing GWO ART-N Nacelle, Tower, and Basement Rescue (NTBR) , a crucial component of the Global Wind Organisation's Advanced Rescue Training (ART) series.

This two-day intensive training program is designed to arm wind turbine personnel with the advanced skills and knowledge required for executing complex rescue operations within the unique environments of wind turbine generators (WTGs).

The course, endorsed with GWO accreditation, is essential for anyone working at height on wind turbines and those designated by employers to perform advanced rescue operations.

Prerequisites

Participants are required to have:

  • Active certifications in Working at Height, First Aid, and Manual Handling.

Course Validity

Certification from this course is valid for 2 years, necessitating renewal for ongoing qualification.

  • Helicopter Rescue Preparation: Guidelines on preparing for helicopter rescues, including safety protocols and preparation of the injured and the WTG.

  • Risk Management: Strategies for controlling risks associated with hazardous energies and enclosed spaces during rescue operations.

  • Rescue Equipment Utilization: Training in the use of rescue stretchers and spineboards, along with manual and power-driven lowering/raising systems.

  • Packaging Injured Persons: Skills for safely securing an injured person for transportation, ensuring their well-being throughout the rescue process.

  • Effective Communication: Techniques for clear communication within rescue teams during high-stress scenarios.

Certification

Successful completion of the course is officially recognised by an entry made by Outreach Rescue in WINDA, ensuring participants are globally acknowledged for their advanced rescue capabilities.

  • To maintain qualifications, participants must renew their training by taking the ART-N NTBR course again before their certification expires.
