Goal
This seminar aims to equip incident commanders with the skills to effectively direct multi-agency flood responses, working alongside water and flood incident managers.
 
		Target group
		Suitable for personnel involved in advising or commanding flood incidents at a tactical or operational level, with prerequisites including in-date Level 2/3 Incident Command or equivalent.

			Description
					
				
					 This 1-day seminar is designed for personnel involved in advising or commanding flood incidents at a tactical or operational level. It covers identification, development, and management of multi-agency tactical and operational plans, focusing on risk assessment, asset response, and coordination.				
			 		
					
				
					 The Flood Awareness Seminar is tailored for incident commanders involved in flood incidents. It provides comprehensive knowledge on identifying, selecting, and managing multi-agency tactical and operational plans in flood environments. Topics include risk assessment, asset response, command, control, coordination, and communication, with a focus on interoperability. These courses will be made bespoke for your organisation focusing on local areas of concern.				
			 
		
		Previous knowledge
		In-date Level 2/3 Incident Command or equivalent. Familiarity with Resilience Direct, Met Office Hazard Manager, DEFRA flood rescue concept of operations, and local flood response plans is beneficial.
 
		Requirements
		Age 18+. It would be beneficial to have access to Resilience Direct and the Met Office Hazard Manager online facilities. Delegates should be familiar with the DEFRA flood rescue concept of operations and their own local flood response plans.
 
		Progression
		Recertification & Refresher training is recommended every 2 years by means of re-attending this course.
 
		Theoretical elements
		- This course is classroom based, and involves interactive classroom discussions, planning and response tabletop exercises, case studies, and shared experiences focusing on risk identification, asset response, and coordination.
 
		Practical elements
		- Whilst this course is classroom based it does include practical tabletop exercises based on local risks, emphasizing planning and response strategies in flood environments.
